CO2 laser treatment for acne scars at Dermacare Institute Vienna
As if acne, pimples and skin impurities were not annoying enough, they often leave unsightly scars that will remind you of them for years to come. With the treatment with the CO2 laser, the Dermacare institute Vienna offers one of the most effective ways of correcting unwanted changes in the skin such as pigment spots, scars and wrinkles, with which good results are achieved, especially in the removal of acne scars.
The laser activates the natural regeneration mechanisms of the skin and is considered the most modern procedure for gentle skin renewal and skin tightening. The treatment is therefore particularly suitable for the removal of acne scars and large-pored skin.
During treatment with the high-frequency laser beam, the upper layers of skin are ablated and acne scars are removed without damaging surrounding tissue. The thermal effect of the laser stimulates the new formation of the skin, at the same time the laser beam activates the production of collagen, which results in a permanent tightening of the tissue. A laser lift with the fractional carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser) results in comprehensive skin renewal, smoothing and tightening, thus ensuring an overall clearer skin appearance.
Let Dermacare specialists inform you in detail about the treatment options with the CO2 laser.
This is how the treatment against acne scars with the CO2 laser works
The treatment is suitable for smoothing medium deep wrinkles and scars (e.g. from acne) but also for removing pigmentation disorders (e.g. age spots, sun spots, melasma). The reduction of small wrinkles and the refinement of large-pored areas (large-pored skin) improves the overall skin structure, resulting in an overall fresher appearance.
During therapy with the fractionated (punctual) CO2 laser, several light points hit the skin. The points hit by the laser are gently removed, and the thermal power of the laser light beam stimulates the body’s own regeneration mechanisms through the minimal artificially induced injury to the skin, and the skin renews itself. At the same time, the laser beam activates collagen production in the deeper skin layers, the connective tissue is tightened.
The healing process takes 3 to 5 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment. The rapid renewal of the skin is made possible by the fact that parts of the skin surface remain untouched when using the fractional laser technique.
Already after the first treatment the skin appearance improves visibly, pigment spots, small wrinkles and superficial scars disappear. Especially acne scars can be treated successfully with the CO2 laser. Deeper wrinkles or scars usually require several treatments, but these become less visible after just one treatment.
Depending on the skin condition, three to five treatments at intervals of four to six weeks are recommended for optimal results. Since the process of collagen regeneration can take several months, the treatment success is only fully visible after 6 months.
The laser treatment is almost painless and there are very short downtimes.
Overview treatment with the CO2 laser
Therapy with the CO2 laser allows for gentle skin rejuvenation and skin correction. Undesirable skin changes such as scars, sun damage and wrinkles can be gently corrected with laser therapy on an outpatient basis. Small wrinkles on the face and neck are reduced or disappear completely after the laser treatment. The thermal power of the laser stimulates new skin formation and collagen production. After the laser treatment, the skin appears smooth and fresh, the collagen provides new firmness.
