FAQ

  • Botox is a liquid protein that is used to relax certain muscles that contribute to the formation of wrinkles. This results in less wrinkling. The substance is injected directly into the muscle that causes the wrinkles. The effect decreases after 4 to 6 months.

A Hayluronic acid filler is a natural gel-like substance that is injected into or under the skin. Due to its water-binding capacity, it increases the volume of the tissue and thus reduces wrinkles or smoothes the skin. Depending on the substance used, the substance is broken down by the body between 9 months and 24 months.

  • Physical protection is necessary after a treatment. Therefore, extreme physical exertion such as sports, sauna and solarium is not recommended for three to five days, depending on the extent of the treatment. After that you can be used again without any restrictions.

During the first week you should not expose yourself to intensive sunlight.

  • Depending on the region to be treated, a treatment takes about 10 to 30 minutes. If a consultation is required beforehand, you should plan on spending about an hour with us. Our doctors take their time to give you detailed advice and make the treatment as pleasant as possible.

  • Botox (botulinum toxin or BTA) is a naturally occurring bacterial protein. It is secreted by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum and isolated in complex cleaning steps. Botulinum toxin is used in aesthetic medicine to smooth wrinkles in the face, neck and neckline area and for treatment of increased sweat gland activity. In addition, Botox is very successful for migraine attacks.

  • Mimic wrinkling is genetically determined and is caused by an overactive musculature. If botulinum toxin is injected into the muscles, it specifically inhibits the transmission of stimuli so that the corresponding muscle can no longer be tensed as usual. The relaxation of the specifically treated muscles leads to a smoothing of wrinkles without changing the normal facial expression. With targeted application, botulinum toxin (Botox) causes an inhibition of sweat gland activity and a reduction in migraine complaints.

  • Before each therapy we discuss with you which regions should be treated. With a very fine needle the substance is injected into the region to be treated. The puncture is minimal (patients sometimes describe a slight burning sensation), but we can also offer you a local anesthetic. The effect sets in after 2 to 3 days. The full effect is visible after about a week. The full effect lasts 4-6 months for wrinkle smoothing, and 12 months on average for sweat gland treatment. In extremely rare cases, the effect can be completely absent.

  • In rare cases there may be skin irritation or infection, slight swelling or a small bruise. Therefore, no blood-thinning medication should be taken at least 1 week before the treatment. Very rarely a temporary lowering of the upper eyelid, eyebrow, tears, headache, dry mouth, tiredness, numbness or a general feeling of illness may occur. All side effects are transient according to current knowledge. Botulinum toxin must not be used in patients with nerve or muscle disorders or in patients with known pregnancy.

  • By taking certain medications (e.g. vitamin C and various antibiotics), the effect can be weakened or completely eliminated. After the injection, you should avoid heavy physical strain and finger contact at the injection sites for twelve hours. For 1 week you should avoid all activities that lead to increased blood circulation (e.g. sauna, sun, solarium, sports).
To ensure that the substance is well distributed in the muscle, you should frequently tense the treated muscles for a few hours.

  • Yes, you are immediately ready for action after the Botox treatment and can continue your work. Occasionally bruises may occur, but these can usually be covered with make-up.

  • Botox is used to treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles or crow’s feet, but also lines on the nose (bunny lines), the chin and wrinkles around the corners of the mouth. The wrinkles in the skin appear in these areas due to the frequent contraction of the muscles, i.e. facial expressions. The treatment relaxes the muscles, the skin recovers and becomes smoother. As a result, the wrinkles that have formed in the epidermis also fade over time.

  • Depending on the number of zones you have treated, a Botox treatment takes about 5 to 20 minutes. If a consultation is required beforehand, you should plan on spending about half an hour with us. Our doctors take their time to give you detailed advice and make the treatment as pleasant as possible.

  • Yes! A filler treatment takes on average about 5-20 minutes. Afterwards the puncture points can be covered with make-up after the treatment. As the treatment with Botox or filler is very quick, most of our customers can have their treatment during their lunch break and return to work immediately.
