In brief
- The laser only reaches follicles in the growth phase, which is 12 to 15% of the hairs, so several treatments are needed.
- Usually four to eight treatments at intervals of four to eight weeks are enough for a satisfactory result.
- In autumn, treated skin is better protected from UV radiation by clothing.
- The autumn offer ran until 15 November 2021: full legs €230, full back €240, with a facial analysis included when booking a package.
Autumn has recently made itself felt not only on the calendar but also on the thermometer. And that means the ideal time for laser hair removal has come. All the better that Dermacare is starting the colder half of the year with an autumn hair removal offer.
Hair removal in autumn
But first we want to tell you why you should start hair removal with laser in autumn in particular. There are several good reasons for this. The first is the duration of treatment. The laser beam can only ever reach and destroy those hair follicles that are currently in the growth phase. Since these are only between 12% and 15% of all hairs at any one time, laser treatment has to be carried out several times. Usually four to eight treatments are enough for a satisfactory result. The interval between individual treatment sessions should be between four and eight weeks in order to reach all follicles. So if you start in autumn, you will be hair-free in time for next spring.
The second reason for treatment in autumn is also related to the cooler temperatures now. Intensive sunbathing should be avoided directly before and after laser hair removal. In damp, cold autumn weather, the treated skin is already protected from excessive UV radiation simply by long clothing. You can find further important information on how to behave before and after a treatment in our FAQs on hair removal with laser.

Frequently asked questions
The term permanent hair removal is defined by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration USA) as a significant reduction of hair for a period longer than the hair cycle in the region. The oldest method by which permanent hair removal can be achieved is needle epilation. For some years now, however, laser and IPL epilation have been used for permanent hair removal with increasing success. The SHR method with 3 wavelengths is the state of the art in laser technology for permanent hair removal.
You can get a comprehensive skin analysis at Dermacare Vienna at our beauty institute in Vienna. Before every aesthetic treatment, your skin is analysed in a structured way to determine your skin type, moisture status, pigmentation and individual needs precisely. This results in a tailor-made treatment plan.
Long-term studies over several years have proven that the effect of professionally performed hair removal is of long-term duration: once hair follicles have been destroyed, they will no longer produce hair.
Most people have no side effects. A normal reaction is that the skin turns red immediately after the treatment. These skin reactions usually disappear within a few hours or a few days.
