Before the treatment, an analgesic cream is applied to the outer vagina and at the entrance to the vagina before the CO2 laser is inserted vaginally with the appropriate attachment. For treatment, the laser beam is activated, and the handpiece is rotated so the laser treats the tissue centimetre by centimetre through a full 360 degrees.
The thermal power of the laser activates the production of the body’s own collagen in the connective tissue layer below the mucosa, the so-called submucosa, and the entire mucosa is stimulated to renew itself. In the process, the connective tissue is tightened and blood circulation is stimulated.
