Among the chemical peel methods, a distinction is made between superficial peels (fruit acid peel), medium-depth peels (PQAge peel) and deep peels (TCA peel) – depending on how aggressively the skin is affected and removed. For the first 3 hours after the peel, neither water nor cosmetics may come into contact with the peeled areas. After that, a moisturising cream or sun protection product may be applied. No vitamin A product may be used during the course of peels. Avoid the sun during the course and for up to two weeks afterwards, or, if necessary, apply a high-protection sunscreen (sun blocker, at least factor 20, preferably higher). After the course, aftercare with special skincare products (e.g. with low-concentration glycolic acid) is recommended to maintain the result achieved.
