In brief

  • The best facial peel depends on skin type, sensitivity and goal, and can only be determined individually.
  • Professional peels work with controlled penetration depth and can trigger deeper regenerative processes such as collagen formation.
  • At Dermacare Vienna, fruit acid, PQAge, TCA and carbon laser peels are available; the TCA peel only under medical supervision.
  • Skin analysis, preparation and aftercare with sun protection are part of an overall concept.

Smooth, pore-free, wrinkle-free skin into old age. Many people wish for exactly this result, but uncertainty begins as early as the search for the right peel. There are fruit acid peels, deep peels, laser peels and combined procedures, but which is really the best professional facial peel for your skin? Where do the differences lie, and how do you make a decision that not only smooths in the short term but makes your skin look younger in the long term?

Why professional peels work better

Drugstore peels or mechanical scrubbing with grains only reach the top layer of skin. A professional facial peel, by contrast, works with medically effective substances and controlled penetration depth. This not only loosens dead skin cells but also triggers deeper regenerative processes: collagen formation, cell renewal, lightening of pigment and smoothing of fine lines.

If you want a youthful complexion, a professionally performed peel gives you not just a beautiful glow in the short term but a lasting improvement in skin texture — visible, tangible and medically supervised.

Which facial peel is the best?

This question can only be answered in the context of your skin. The best facial peel is always the one that matches your skin type, your level of sensitivity and your goal exactly. At Dermacare Vienna, several proven peeling procedures are available, selected individually according to depth and effect.

So that you get a feel for how the methods differ, here are the main variants at a glance:

1. Fruit acid peel – gentle refinement

Auf diesem Bild sieht man eine Patientin die ein Fruchstäurepeeling von dermacaer wien erhaltet.

A fruit acid peel is ideal for anyone who wants to treat small lines, blemishes or first pigment changes. Fruit acids work on the surface without irritating the skin, stimulate collagen formation and immediately bring a fresher, smoother complexion. Perfect for sensitive skin and as an introduction to anti-ageing treatments.

2. PQAge peel – visible glow without downtime

The PQAge peel is one of the most popular options when results without downtime are wanted. It combines regenerating active ingredients with an immediate lifting effect – without injuring the skin. Particularly suitable for the middle layers of the skin, for fine lines, a tired complexion or for special occasions.

3. TCA peel – medical deep renewal

The TCA peel works more deeply. This peel is suitable for more pronounced skin changes: acne scars, pigmentation spots, sun damage or deeper lines. As it acts in deep layers of the skin, it is carried out at Dermacare Vienna exclusively under medical supervision. The result: an all-round rejuvenated, smoothed skin structure.

4. Carbon laser peel – deep pore cleansing & skin refinement

With the carbon laser peel, a special carbon lotion is applied and then activated with laser light energy. Ideal for enlarged pores, blemishes, pigmentation spots or sun-damaged skin.

In combination with an Aquafacial or active ingredients, the skin is refined and intensively moisturised at the same time. In addition, the peel stimulates collagen production, so that the skin looks firmer and more elastic in the long term.

How do you recognise the best professional facial peel for you?

Besides the method itself, the overall approach is decisive. A peel is not an isolated procedure but part of an overall concept, including skin analysis, preparation and aftercare. Only if the skin is properly prepared beforehand and consistently protected afterwards (e.g. through sun protection, suitable skincare products and active-ingredient cosmetics) can results not only be visible but last.

This means that it is not the product itself that decides, but the combination of expertise, support and individually tailored treatment.

Individual rather than general

A professional peel harmonises the complexion, refines the pores, lightens pigmentation spots, smooths lines and gives your skin back the freshness that many look for in vain with creams or home care.

If you want wrinkle-free, clear, even skin and would like to find out which procedure is the best facial peel for your skin, Dermacare Vienna offers a well-founded skin analysis and an individually tailored selection of treatments.

In a personal consultation, experienced specialists clarify which peel will bring you the greatest benefit. With Dermacare you will soon achieve visible results and healthy, radiant skin.

Frequently asked questions

The peel itself can burn, sting and itch for a few minutes. Afterwards the skin is more or less red, depending on the method used. The redness after a superficial peel is hardly noticeable after a few hours. The peeling of the skin after the peel is also one of the necessary effects. No important social or professional meetings should therefore be planned for the days immediately after the peel. Other side effects are rare, such as fine scarring in very sensitive skin, pigment shifts (lightening or darkening of the skin), longer-lasting itching or tingling, and skin infections. Smoking and sun greatly increase the risk of side effects, which is why both should be avoided during and after treatment.

For an optimal result, 4 – 6 treatments should be carried out at intervals of 2 weeks. A top-up course of 2–3 treatments every 6 months is recommended.

“Peel” is the name for an external, aesthetic-dermatological treatment of the skin with natural fruit acids, chemical acids or by mechanical removal. The peel is suitable for improving or eliminating sun- or age-related skin changes, wrinkles, pigment spots and superficial acne scars, and for tightening the skin. Since the discovery of the skin-improving properties of natural fruit acids, numerous methods have been developed. Among the chemical peel methods, a distinction is made between superficial peels (fruit acid peel), medium-depth peels (PQAge peel) and deep peels (TCA peel) – depending on how aggressively the skin is affected and removed. Mechanical peel methods include dermabrasion and microdermabrasion. We use different types of peel depending on the desired result.

A medical peel is a highly effective procedure that must not be confused with an at-home peel or a salon peel. The acids used are far more concentrated and effective. The skin must therefore also be gradually accustomed to the fruit acids. After several weeks of pre-treatment at home, we begin – depending on skin type and method – with a 10–20% solution and increase weekly by 10% up to approx. 50–70%. During the treatment itself, the skin is first degreased and cleansed. Then the fruit acid is applied. After the prescribed application time, the fruit acid is washed off or neutralised. During and after treatment the skin may burn and feel hot. This sensation disappears after the acids are neutralised. After hours to days, the skin peels to a greater or lesser degree, which lasts a few days.
